Q:  Do you know the meaning of “employer” under the OH&S Act?

A:  S. 1(1) - "Employer" means a person who employs one or more workers or contracts the services of one or more workers and includes a contractor or subcontractor who performs work or supplies services and a contractor or subcontractor who undertakes with an owner, constructor, contractor or subcontractor to perform work or supply services.

Q:  Do you have a written Health & Safety Policy/Program within your workplace?

A:  S. 25(2)(j) - Employers shall prepare and review at least annually a written occupational health and safety policy and develop and miantain a prgram to implement that policy.

Q:  Is your workplace providing notice of required legislative documents?  Such as a Occupational Health and Safety Policy?

A:  S. 25(2)(k) - Employers shall post at a conspicuous location in the workplace a copy of the occupational health and safety policy. 

Q:  Do you have the necessary requirements for First Aid/CPR in the workplace and on the job?

A:  REG. 1101 8.(1) - Every employer employing not more than five workers in any one shift at a place of employment shall provide and maintain at the place of employment a first aid station with with a first aid box containing as a minimum...... (2) The employer shall ensure that the first aid station is at all times in the charge of a worker who, (a) is the holder of a valid St. John Ambulance Emergency First Aid Certificate or its equivalent:

Q:  Would you like to explain to a wife, mother or father why their love one is critically injured or dead because you did not do your “due diligence” in protecting their safety?

A:  S. 25.(1) - An employer shall ensure that, (a) the equipment, materials and protective divices as prescribed are provided;  (2)(a) provide information, instruction and supervision to a worker to protect the health or safety of the worker;  (c) when appointing a supervisor, appoint a competent person;  (h) take every precauton reasonable in the circumstances for the protectionof a worker.
